"My calling in life is to help people", student Keturah Musonda

A student of the Institute of Medicine at RUDN University, Keturah Musonda, was brought to Russia by a family loss that changed her life entirely. Back in her home country Zambia, she had to bury her brother: he passed away from a disease that modern medicine has long learned to control. It was then that Keturah realized: her calling is to help people. After graduation, she plans on working as a doctor and on spreading the best medical practices throughout her home country.

RUDN Medics Identified an Error in the Therapy of Ischemic Stroke After-Effects

If a patient is treated from ischemic stroke after-effects using the cerebral hypothermia method, their diet is adjusted, and they are expected to consume 20-25 Kcal per 1 kilogram of body weight. RUDN medics demonstrated that this value should be reduced by 15-20% to decrease the mortality and disablement rate among such patients by 2 times. The article was published in the Clinical Nutrition journal.

“I dream that children smile with healthy and beautiful teeth!” - Rachel Gainos, a student at the Medical Institute

A 5th-year student of the RUDN Medical Institute Rachel Gainos from Namibia became the winner of the VIII All-Russian Student Dental Olympiad "From Education to Practice" at the stages of surgical and pediatric dentistry. The Olympiad included all sections of dentistry - therapeutic, orthopedic, surgical, children's age and maxillofacial. In total, 47 students from Russia and neighboring countries took part in the competition.
