Our heroine chooses the Soviet avant-garde or modern depending on the mood. She believes that the most important thing in architecture is to combine practical and aesthetic approaches. She loves architectural bionics. It all started with the love for drawing. Here is the story of Anastasia Chugunova, an architecture student who has been an excellent student for 5 years.
On November 23, 2022, Chev. Prof. Mario Pace, (Ph.D. (Melit), Associate Professor, Head of the Department, Languages and Humanities Education, Faculty of Education, University of Malta, language consultant to the Minister of Education) gave lecture entitled “Languages and Translation in the Context of Intercultural Communication” within the framework of the academic and methodological online seminar of the Foreign Languages Department of the Agrarian and Technological Institute of RUDN University held via MS Teams. The event attracted an audience of more than 80 guests.
Read an interview with Polina Bodrova, a 10 semester A- student of Psychological and Pedagogical Education about the secret of successful reports, the role of psychology in teaching and Pablo Picasso's favorite phrase.
RUDN University professor together with colleagues from France and the USA has developed a technique for describing blood clotting regarding the individual characteristics of patients. This will help to make more accurately diagnosis and select drugs dosages for the treatment of haemophilia, thrombosis and other blood coagulation disorders.
How to properly procrastinate, why a lawyer needs dancing and why working in an IT company is not the limit... Read an interview with Daria Efremova, who has been studying at RUDN Law Institute for 5 years, getting only A-grades and managing to work and relax.
RUDN chemists have proven the effectiveness of metal complexes for catalysis of cyanhydrin production — substances important for the chemical industry. Chemists managed to achieve 96.3% of the reaction efficiency.
RUDN University chemists obtained a metal-containing complex with an unusual planar architecture. The unexpected structure was formed due to the spontaneous fixation of carbon dioxide from the air during the reaction. This compound exhibits unusual magnetic properties (spin glass behaviour). This can be useful for creating memory storage devices.
RUDN chemists investigated in detail the molecular mechanism of interaction of the newly created antitumor drug with blood proteins. The results will not only allow us to judge the effectiveness of the drug, but also are of interest from the point of view of understanding the mechanisms of action of such drugs.
RUDN University chemist together with colleagues from Belgium and China proposed a new method for the synthesis of biologically active phenanthridinones. This protocol allows creating a wider range of products and does not require a long time or harsh conditions.
RUDN University soil scientist for the first time investigated how soil microorganisms resist changes due to human agricultural activities in karst regions.
Nanoparticles are used for targeted delivery of drugs, toxic agents for the destruction of cancer cells, as well as for diagnosticsand. In the treatment of cancer, drugs are increasingly combined with nanomaterials, since in combination they affectthe causes and manifestations ofthedisease from different sides. Gold nanoparticles are well suited for therapy and diagnosis, since they are inert, easily penetrate into tumor cells and linger in them. Researchers at IBHTN and RUDN University studied which parameters of gold nanoparticles determine their success in cancer therapy.
The RUDN University chemist together with colleagues from Portugal created catalysts based on vanadium, supported on a carbon framework. They can be used, for example, to produce adipic acid. The use of the framework increased the efficiency of the catalysts, made them reusable and allowed the reaction to be carried out with microwave radiation instead of the more energy-consuming oil heating.
