The project of students of the Faculty of Economics “TURPASS Digital tourist card” was awarded by the jury of the intellectual game “Smart City” within the framework of the “Digital Economy Week”. The award ceremony took place on February 21, at a round table on the development of the digital economy in the State Duma of the Russian Federation.

RUDN has signed joint master's degree programs with leading Brazilian universities - the Federal University of Minas Gerais in Belo Horizonte and the Federal University of Flumenense in Rio de Janeiro. Negotiations started during the visit of RUDN delegation headed by Larisa Efremova, Vice-Rector of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia in September 2018.

February 27, the results of the international subject ranking of universities QS World University Rankings by Subject 2019 are officially published. RUDN is presented in two subject rankings - “Modern Languages” (151-200 place) and “Linguistics” (251-300 place). The largest number of points received by the RUDN University in terms of the “Recognition of Employers” indicator: Linguistics - 80 points, Modern Languages - 75.5 points.

February 20, at the meeting of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Education (RAE), the rector of the RUDN University, academician of the RAE Vladimir Filippov was presented with the highest award - the Medal of Distinguished Service of the Russian Academy of Education.

A 5th-year student of the RUDN Medical Institute Rachel Gainos from Namibia became the winner of the VIII All-Russian Student Dental Olympiad "From Education to Practice" at the stages of surgical and pediatric dentistry. The Olympiad included all sections of dentistry - therapeutic, orthopedic, surgical, children's age and maxillofacial. In total, 47 students from Russia and neighboring countries took part in the competition.

Innovations and scientific discoveries, academic victories and professional recognition - at the meeting of the Academic Council, students and teachers of RUDN got awards for outstanding achievements in science and education.

February 7, the Faculty of Philology held a grand opening of the thematic auditorium "Petra". The hall is named after the ancient city in Jordan, which is included in the list of new 7 wonders of the world. Together with representatives of the faculty, the ambassadors of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Iraq and the League of Arab States (LAS) opened the auditorium.

February 5, at the “Rossiia Segodnya” International Information Agency, RUDN presented a new model of international cooperation - the cluster approach. Why is Italy among the top three countries in terms of the number of contractual students, what specialties are sought for in Russia, where and how to find talented foreign applicants - these topics were on the agenda of the press conference “Cluster approach as a new export model for Russian education”.

More than 2,000 employers from 28 countries supported the idea of the club. On the agenda: monitoring the labor market, the employment of foreign graduates and expanding the list of employers.

February 5, RUDN hosted a seminar "Modern Advances in Ultrasound and Magnetic Resonance Research in the Diagnosis of Liver Diseases", which was attended by practicing hepatologists, gastroenterologists, endocrinologists, and ultrasound diagnostics doctors. Lorenzo Manneli, a professor at Cambridge University (UK) and New York University (USA), shared his experience with colleagues.
